For podcasts and events
Send a link to a guest, a speaker or your whole audience. They record a question, an introduction or a message in their browser, and the clip arrives ready for your edit.
Have a go with your own camera in the demo. Nothing is uploaded. Sign-up opens soon.

The usual trouble
A voice note in one app, a video in another, a file somebody's assistant emailed. Before you can use any of it you have to find it all and convert it.
A speaker will record a minute on their phone between meetings. Asking them to download software first is usually where it stops.
Ask for a quick clip without a limit and you get thirty seconds from one person and six minutes from the next.
How it works
Say what you'd like, who it's for and how long they have. A countdown holds everyone to the limit, so nobody runs over.
Send it to one guest, or put it in your show notes, newsletter or event email for anyone to use. They record on a phone or computer with nothing to install.
We email you when one arrives. Watch it in your dashboard and download the original file for your editor.
What to ask
Ask for one thing at a time. A clip that answers a single question is much easier to drop into an edit.
This is what goes into a link: a title, and what you'd like them to say. Change the words to sound like you.
Settings
You make these choices for each link. Here is where we'd start.
On their side
A video of someone's face and voice is about as personal as data gets, so we're careful with it at every step.
Good to know
ClipStation records one person's camera and microphone for a set time, up to 3 minutes on Pro. It isn't a studio for recording a whole episode with a guest.
You download what their device recorded, at up to 1080p, with nothing added. Most browsers produce an MP4 and Firefox a WebM. If you only need the sound, take it from the file in your editor.
The picture and sound are as good as their camera, microphone and room. It's worth asking for a quiet spot.
They agree to share the clip with you. If you'll broadcast it or post it, say so in your request, as the example above does.
Which plan
5 videos a month and one active link, which suits an introduction or two from the guests on each episode.
25 videos a month and 5 active links, which leaves room for audience questions and a separate link for each episode or event.
You can change plan or cancel at any time. See everything each plan includes
Questions
No. The link opens in the browser on their phone or computer. They don't need an app or an account.
No. It records video with sound. You can take the audio from the downloaded file in your editing software.
You set the limit for each link, from 30 seconds up to 90 seconds on Starter and 3 minutes on Pro. The recorder counts down and stops by itself when the time is up.
MP4 on most browsers and WebM on Firefox, at up to 1080p. You download the original file, with nothing added to it.
No. Each recording has one person on camera and a time limit, up to 3 minutes on Pro. It's made for short clips.
Yes, until the link expires or reaches the maximum you set. For a link meant for one guest, set the maximum to 1.
When you reach your monthly allowance the link stops accepting videos until the allowance resets or you move to a larger plan. We email you when you're getting close, and nothing you've already received is affected.
Also used for
The demo takes you through it with your own camera: writing the request, recording as a guest would, and watching the video arrive. Nothing is uploaded and you don't need an account.
We use Google Analytics cookies to see how people find and use this site, so we can improve it. Nothing about the videos people record is shared. More detail.
